A collaboration between The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education and the Penn AHEAD, Indicators of Higher Education Equity documents trends in higher education inequity in the United States. These reports draw from multiple sources of existing data to provide, in one place, indicators that describe trends in equity in postsecondary enrollment, choice, and degree attainment, as well as indicators of college affordability.
The Improving Equity in Higher Education blog is intended to promote thoughtful and productive conversation about the nature and related dimensions of inequity in higher education opportunity and outcomes, as well as effective policies and practices for reducing inequity.
We encourage essays that spark discussion among policymakers, practitioners, and scholars about potentially effective approaches to improving equity in higher education opportunity and outcomes, forces that contribute to persisting inequity in higher education opportunity and outcomes, and measurement of higher education equity. We also encourage essays that provide rapid response to proposed changes in federal and state higher education policy.
