The Inyo Promise was established in 2013 for residents of Inyo County who attended an Inyo County High School. The award provides: 1) a full tuition and a $300 credit per semester for books for up to two years at Cerro Coso Community College, 2) a sister school savings of approximately $3,800 per semester for students in the Nevada Advantage Non-resident Reduced Tuition program at the University of Nevada, Reno, 3) a sister school savings of approximately $5,500 per semester for students in the WUE Non-resident Reduced Tuition program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Students must meet merit requirements. Awards are on a first dollar basis. The program is funded by the Eastern Sierra Foundation, Western Interstate Commision for Higher Education and the University of Nevada, Reno.
