Pittsburgh Promise
The Pittsburgh Promise was established in 2007 for Pittsburgh residents who attend Pittsburgh public schools from at least 9th grade. The award is pro-rated and provides up to $7,500 a year on a last dollar basis (for 2017 and on) to any in-state public or private college or university. Students must also meet merit requirements. The program is funded by University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, foundations, corporations, and individual donations.
