San Jose Promise
The San Jose Promise was announced in 2017 and began enrolling students that Fall. The promise is towards San Jose Evergreen Community College District. The program is for local students who are graduating seniors San Jose high schools, with a focus and specific outreach to underrepresented, low-income, undocumented, and first-generation-to-college students. The program covers up to two years of tuition, textbook, fees, student support services, transportation, and provides additional college resources to approximately 500 qualifying students in a single year. The program is last dollar, and is substantively funded by an initial two-year grant of $1.5 million from the California College Promise Innovation Grant Program.
