Quincy Promise
Quincy Promise was established in 2016 as a four-year pilot program for recent high school graduates of Quincy, IL schools. The award provides last-dollar grant aid up to the full cost of tuition at John Wood Community College (JWCC) for students who pursue career, technical, and health-related programs (applied associate degrees or certificates only). Those pursuing academic-focused programs or general education courses for transfer are ineligible. Eligible grant recipients must be enrolled in Quincy schools for at least four years, and the award amount is pro-rated with those attending Quincy school for at least eleven years receiving up to 100% tuition assistance. Financial awards are given for up to 64 credit hours or 3 years, whichever comes first. Local private businesses have provided funding for this four-year initiative.
