The El Monte Union Pledge (or City of El Monte Promise) was established in 2010 for graduates of El Monte Union High School District. The program requires students to attend Rio Hondo College and guarantees transfer admission into UC-Irvine. High school students who meet income requirements are eligible. The program is sponsored by Rio Hondo College.
