The Boston Tuition Free Plan was announced in 2016 for graduates of Boston Public Schools who are Boston residents. The award would cover up to three years of tuition and fees on a first dollar basis to Bunker Hill Community College and Roxbury Community College. High school graduates must meet income and merit requirements. The program is still in development, but would be supported through the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development and Neighborhood Jobs Trust.
