The Future of Higher Education.
The HEAD Foundation, located in Singapore, held their second series of workshops and invited four experts to discuss trends and challenges regarding the future of higher education. Penn AHEAD Executive Director Matthew Hartley and Penn AHEAD Senior Scholar Alan Ruby were among the the four invited participants.Dr. Hartley spoke about the challenges that US higher education faced during the 1990s and how institutions have evolved to overcome those challenges. He also spoke about higher education's collaboration and commitment to community stakeholders.Professor Ruby presented on the intention and purpose of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and student access to free and individualized learning..
