AHEAD’S building capacity initiatives link research to practice, drawing on the expertise of the faculty and staff of AHEAD and alumni of Penn GSE’s Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management program.

These initiatives focus on both U.S. and international higher education systems and institutions and include, but are not limited to, issues of capacity building, governance, quality assurance, institutional and management practices, and leadership development.

These initiatives can take the form of short-term consulting engagements or long-term partner projects spanning the course of a year or more. Whether short or long-term, AHEAD is committed to engaging in activities that: (1) build capacity, (2) create mutual benefit for all involved, (3) develop collaborative scholarly activities, and (4) are conducted transparently and openly.
